Inspired Ceramic Cookies

I have long been intrigued with the idea of making clay fortune cookies. I am also a huge collector of quotes, many of which uplift, inspire and remind me of my humanity. For 2018’s Art Center Faculty Exhibition I decided to combine these two interests by making and giving away hundreds of ceramic cookies, each containing a quote to remind us of our common humanity - loves, struggles, hopes and dreams – with the aim of spreading some kindness and joy. I am encouraging folks to share their quotes on Instagram using the #fortunatecookies by @pegalito. I’m looking forward to seeing how these wishes may spread.
