This piece started with a single hunk of clay through which I punched-out a center, and around which I pinched all the small nooks and crannies… which is my habit. While working in this way, I find I do inhabit each of these spaces. Its finish recalls stones, shells and water and invites the viewer to inhabit these spaces too.
